It is also known as Ferronigerite -2N1S with a complex chemistry of (FeMg) 4(AL10Sn2)12O22(OH)2. The type locality is Egbe district, Kabba Province, Nigeria. Originally named Nigerite, for the type locality in Nigeria. Renamed according to the new Nigerite group nomenclature as Fe dominant mineral and the 2N1S polysome
