(Rhombic) Pyramidal, prismatic and tabular. Crystals are rare and small.

Accompanied by:

Descloisite, vanadinite, pyromorphite, mimetite, cerussite, wulfenite, azurite, malachite and calcite

Similar to:

Malachite

Mottramite is formed in the oxidized zones of copper deposits. It is one of the minerals native to Tsumeb. Mottramite and Tsumeb goes hand in hand.

Aggregates of mottramite looks wartlike, dendritic and stalactitic or crusty. The lustre can be adamantine but it is more likely resinous. The rhombic crystals are usually opaque.
