The name Euclase means easily cleaved.

It is difficult to cut because it can easily cleave in the wrong direction.

It can be a real treasure in your collection due to it's rarity.

Because of it's rarity it has never reached popularity status.

The crystals of euclase are normally prismatic with slanted termination faces. Nice crystals of euclase are very popular with serious collectors.

Euclase is formed with the decomposition of Beryl in the presence of topaz. It has a similar crystal formation as celestite and barite but it occurs in a different environment. Forms in granitic pegmatites as secondary beryllium minerals. Also occurs as placer deposits
