The mineral Tuperssuatsiaite derived its name from its discovery locality; Tuperssuatsiat in Greenland (1985).

Tuperssuatsiaite is a rare mineral.

It is mainly found in the Aris quarry (is a phonolite quarry), south of Windhoek in Namibia.

Tuperssuatsiaite from this location is the finest in the world.

Vugs from this location in Namibia, are usually very small.
