Namibite derived its name from the country Namibia, where it was discovered in 1981.

Namibite is a rare mineral, mainly occurring in granitic pegmatite and polymetallic quartz vein settings.

Namibite is mainly associated with Bismuth minerals, like Native Beyerite, Bismuth, Bismuthinite, Bismutite, Bismite, Clinobisvanite, Eulytite, Pucherite, Schumacherite.

Location Khorixas, Damaraland District, Namibia.
