Carrollite derives it's name from the place of discovery, Carroll Co., Maryland, USA. 

Carrollite is a rare sulfide mineral of cobalt, copper and nickel with the composition Cu(Co,Ni)2S4

At Tsumeb it is found only as tiny light steel-gray crystals visible under the microscope.
